How are classes organised?

There are approximately 650 children at South Rise and the school is organized in the following way:

• Early Years and Foundation Stage (EYFS) caters for children from 3-5 years old and is known as Nursery and Reception

• Key Stage One (KS1) caters for children from 5-7 years

      old and consists of Year1 and Year 2

• Key Stage 2 (KS2) caters for children from 7-11 years old and consists of Year3, Year 4,

     Year 5 and Year 6

• The children in each year (Reception to Y6) are grouped into three mixed ability classes.

     Every class has a qualified teacher and all classes are supported by a teaching

     assistant for at least part  of the time
