Attendance and Punctuality

It is most important that children arrive in school on time as late arrivals cause disruption to the education of your child and the others in the class.

Absence

Please contact the school office, either in person or by phone or letter if your child is absent from school for any reason by 10am. The school uses an electronic registration system. If we have not had a reason for absence for your child by 10am you will be contacted by "Truancy Call" our automated absence chasing service. Absence is recorded as authorised (absence with a qualifying reason) or unauthorised and the Governing Body must now publish annual figures for all absences.

Holidays

Holidays in school time must be applied for in writing to the Head before the holiday (forms obtainable from school office). Up to two weeks can be authorised in any twelve months for pupils whose attendance is usually good.

Home Contact Information

Parents are asked to help us keep records of their addresses, place of work, phone numbers etc. up to date. The school must be notified of any such change. It may be necessary to contact you urgently if your child is taken ill or has had an accident.

Under no circumstances will children be allowed out of school by themselves during school hours. They must be collected from the school office for visits to doctor, dentist etc.

Dinners

School Dinners are £1.40 daily and are paid for weekly in advance on a Monday (£7). Alternatively children may bring a packed lunch from home which must be in a plastic container clearly marked with the child's name and class. Please do not put drinks in glass bottles in the packed lunch. Children who go home for dinner must not return before 1.10 p.m. for afternoon school. Parents are expected to choose one of these dinner arrangements. If there is a need to change please give a weeks notice. In an emergency when a change is needed, please let the office know.
