South Rise is currently the largest primary school in the Greenwich LEA. We offer education to children from 3 years (in the nursery) to 11 years, when they transfer to secondary school.
South Rise is an IBO Candidate School and, as such, offers the Primary Years Programme (PYP) alongside the National Curriculum. Please see the PYP pages for further information.
The Nursery has two classes: 25 part-time morning places and 25 part-time afternoon places and each child is allocated 1 full day per week. The nursery has its own separate play space and garden.
The school is three-form entry, which means there are normally three classes in each year group with up to 90 pupils in each year group.
South Rise Primary School aims include high expectations for all children's learning. We endeavour to create a happy, purposeful working environment that is intellectually challenging to the children and in which they can develop academically, socially, emotionally and physically. We want the children to:
- achieve their full potential across a broad and balanced curriculum.
- respect others, behave well, and work hard
- take pride in themselves and their achievements.
To enable us to do this we consider it most important to work in partnership with parents and carers. We have children from many different backgrounds and we value the contribution that all our families make to the school. All members of our school community, pupils, parents, staff and governors are respected and valued.
